Rain Triangles
Selection of prints exhibited at ChaNorth Upstate Art Weekend 2022
The series “Rain Triangles” explores a relationship between form and placement, considering vantage points and topography of atmospheric landscapes. The triangle plates are whiteground etchings, drawn from collages of ripped photogravures from the earlier series “City, Desert, Moon”, a series which explored the magnification of domestic objects into newfound interpretation of landscapes. The triangle plates are paired with a square photogravure plate of an ambiguous rock plane. Together, they are texture drawings shifting between the realms of each other’s surfaces. Their configurations reveal directional, soulful maps that ultimately unearth jewel-like forms. By navigating macro/micro worlds through fantastical maps, I am creating a topographical language to map out an imaginary territory specific to my consciousness in an alternate universe.
